OFCC Sues City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio The sign you see here is posted in Cleveland Heights Parks implying possession of a firearm is a crime. On Friday August 12th, 2011 Ohioans For Concealed Carry Filed a lawsuit against the City the City of Cleveland Heights. The litigation comes after many attempts to resolve concerns over laws that Cleveland Heights not only allowed to remain on their books, but also posted signs at their parks that continue to imply it is illegal to be armed. The City of Cleveland Heights has chosen to ignore our attempts at civil discourse. When individuals have contacted them representing themselves as residents of the City of Cleveland Heights their concerns apparently fell on deaf ears. When representatives of the organization have formally contacted the city's legal representation they've been laughed at and hung up on by the Law Director. It is this arrogance and refusal to work with Ohioans For Concealed Carry that has forced us to seek a remedy through the courts.

Canton PD Event Leads to New OFCC Legislation When officer Harless of the Canton, Ohio police department came upon a vehicle stopped in the roadway most of us were focused on getting restaurant carry legislation signed into law. What took place that evening has become an international viral video, calls for the resignation of the City Council president, and criminal charges against a man who is clearly heard trying to state that he has a license. 2001 Strategy Meeting - COLUMBUS

OFCC Membership: Many of you may remember the 2000 spring meeting we had in Columbus. This year, things will be done differently. First, we're going to have a much more strict agenda. Second, we're going to mail that agenda to every member once we complete it! Third, we're going to try and accomplish more than just updating you on issues and talking this year. It's time to shift into the offensive gear and move forward. This year's meeting will also create quite a bit of "positions" in the organization, so if you're ready to finally step forward and take on a leadership role you need to get involved. Please read on for more details...

The date of this year's meeting is undetermined, but we have come up with two possible Saturdays. We've eliminated April because we simply can't plan this quick enough -- we've eliminated May because we'll be staffing three gun shows and the Dayton Hamvention -- So we're stuck with June which is a good thing, it gives us time to plan and notify the entire membership. But things need to move fast and we need your help. We need ideas from the majority, and we need activism instead of passive listeners!

First, visit our website main page and vote (only once please!) for which day you would rather have the meeting. The survey is located at the bottom of the page on the extreme right corner. While the results of this survey will not dictate a decision (availability of facilities and certain key individuals will) it will help us determine what weekend is better for the majority

Second, we need you to tell us what you think is lacking the most from OFCC. For instance, do we need more area coordinators? Do you want to become an area coordinator? Mail your concerns to me ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) so we can construct an agenda. If you want to speak about something, mail the concern to me. This year we want to strictly limit speakers to 5 or 6 minutes tops. Last year our meeting was simply too long. Productive results are the goal!

Third, we need to know what you want to get out of this meeting. It's time consuming for the majority to attend a meeting in the middle of the state, but its also the most "friendly" place to meet. Last year's meeting simply packed a room tight, so this year is likely to be even better. But a room of 40 people can't have a useful discussion, it doesn't work. At some point in the day we'll want to break into groups to discuss different subjects, but to do that we need some people to step forward with interests and concerns. What are yours? Staffing radio talk shows, the committee hearings, etc. are mine.

Last, staffing is going to be a major discussion item. By the time we have this meeting we will have staffed the Dayton Hamvention, but we'll need to discuss staffing the Ohio State Fair. We're looking into completing the paperwork on table space (or larger) for the 17 day Ohio State Fair in Columbus. Staffing this event over 17 days is going to require a significant amount of volunteers, and we're going to need people to come help us out. In the end, those 17 days are likely to raise quite a bit of donations, membership, and signatures for OFCC. But nothing will happen if nobody is at the table!

Important Reminder: Excluding invited guests the only attendees to this meeting will be members of OFCC. This is a closed meeting. If you've sent in your membership and not heard anything yet just mention that when you RSVP to the agend / invitation, but you must be a member to attend.
