OFCC Sues City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio
The sign you see here is posted in Cleveland Heights Parks implying possession of a firearm is a crime.
On Friday August 12th, 2011 Ohioans For Concealed Carry Filed a lawsuit against the City the City of Cleveland Heights. The litigation comes after many attempts to resolve concerns over laws that Cleveland Heights not only allowed to remain on their books, but also posted signs at their parks that continue to imply it is illegal to be armed. The City of Cleveland Heights has chosen to ignore our attempts at civil discourse. When individuals have contacted them representing themselves as residents of the City of Cleveland Heights their concerns apparently fell on deaf ears. When representatives of the organization have formally contacted the city's legal representation they've been laughed at and hung up on by the Law Director. It is this arrogance and refusal to work with Ohioans For Concealed Carry that has forced us to seek a remedy through the courts.

Earlier today Congressman Ted Strickland's campaign announced that Lee Fisher will join the ticket.
Lee Fisher spent a year in the Ohio House of Representatives in the 1980's and eight years in the Ohio Senate through 1990. He was "narrowly elected" Attorney General and served from 1991 through 1995. In 1994 he lost his seat as AG to Betty Montgomery, who has recently announced her plans to seek the seat again. In 1998 Fisher ran for Governor and lost to now term-limited Bob Taft. (source: wikipedia)
Until today, Strickland's campaign was perceived as a pro-gun Democrat ticket. Lee Fisher is anything but favorable to gun owners, which is unfortunate for Democrat voters in Ohio who own firearms.
Lee Fisher was a member of the Handgun Control Inc. Board of Directors according to This NRA Fact Sheet.

A simple google search brings up Fisher's questionable past involvement with Handgun Control Incorporated: Minutes of a HCI meeting, 1993 (Read the five year plan to ban gun shows!)
In a 1994 edition of the "PROponent" the Columbus based People's Rights Organization had the following to say about Lee Fisher when he ran for Governor against Bob Taft:
Lee FisherLee Fisher, as Lt. Governor, is a threat to becoming a future Governor of Ohio and a threat to law abiding gun owners of this state.
While a member of the Ohio Senate, and later as Attorney General, has publicly supported all manner of gun control legislation including handgun registration, the Brady Bill, and the assault weapons ban. While a Senator, made the following statement: "I never met a gun control bill I didn't like." NRA rating F- (all emphasis added by OFCC)
