OFCC Sues City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio The sign you see here is posted in Cleveland Heights Parks implying possession of a firearm is a crime. On Friday August 12th, 2011 Ohioans For Concealed Carry Filed a lawsuit against the City the City of Cleveland Heights. The litigation comes after many attempts to resolve concerns over laws that Cleveland Heights not only allowed to remain on their books, but also posted signs at their parks that continue to imply it is illegal to be armed. The City of Cleveland Heights has chosen to ignore our attempts at civil discourse. When individuals have contacted them representing themselves as residents of the City of Cleveland Heights their concerns apparently fell on deaf ears. When representatives of the organization have formally contacted the city's legal representation they've been laughed at and hung up on by the Law Director. Ken Blackwell Fires Ceremonial First Shot At New Facility

OFCC endorsed Gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell was on hand Tuesday, June 20th, at the Ohio State Trapshooting Tournament at the Cardinal Center Campgrounds in Marengo.  The campgrounds are the new home of the Ohio State Trapshooting Association .

As the guest of Honor Blackwell fired the first shots at the campgrounds' new trapshooting field.  Blackwell went 8 for 10 from the 16 yard line, demonstrating that he doesn't just talk about guns, he can shoot well too!  You can watch Ken shooting on the range here.

Fox News covered the event and interviewed Blackwell in a piece that analyzed the role reversal of the candidates running for Governor. Of course, it was interesting to see the news voiceover calling Strickland a pro-gun candidate, while it was Blackwell they showed actually shooting.

Brit Hume of Fox News' Special Report put it well while introducing a piece by political correspondent Carl Cameron (Windows Media):

No state has been a better barometer of the direction of national politics than Ohio, which is why statewide elections there are closely watched in Washington and most of the rest of the country.

The race for Governor of the Buckeye state this year...  looks to be a real shoot out....
