OFCC Sues City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio
The sign you see here is posted in Cleveland Heights Parks implying possession of a firearm is a crime.
On Friday August 12th, 2011 Ohioans For Concealed Carry Filed a lawsuit against the City the City of Cleveland Heights. The litigation comes after many attempts to resolve concerns over laws that Cleveland Heights not only allowed to remain on their books, but also posted signs at their parks that continue to imply it is illegal to be armed. The City of Cleveland Heights has chosen to ignore our attempts at civil discourse. When individuals have contacted them representing themselves as residents of the City of Cleveland Heights their concerns apparently fell on deaf ears. When representatives of the organization have formally contacted the city's legal representation they've been laughed at and hung up on by the Law Director. It is this arrogance and refusal to work with Ohioans For Concealed Carry that has forced us to seek a remedy through the courts.

Canton PD Event Leads to New OFCC Legislation
When officer Harless of the Canton, Ohio police department came upon a vehicle stopped in the roadway most of us were focused on getting restaurant carry legislation signed into law.
What took place that evening has become an international viral video, calls for the resignation of the City Council president, and criminal charges against a man who is clearly heard trying to state that he has a license.
Ohioans For Concealed Carry has not just raised thousands of dollars in a legal defense fund, but we've written legislation to resolve this matter that Representative Danny Bubp has stated he's going to introduce this fall

Ohio GPA Goes Up After Election!

Ohio's GPA*, or Gun Point Average, rose slightly after a majority of the candidates endorsed by Ohioans For Concealed Carry, and rated highly by the NRA, won their races. Overall, 91 of OFCC's 127 endorsed candidates (nearly 72%) won their races thanks to those of you who took the time to Vote Your Guns.
Taking into account the candidate grades given out by the NRA Political Victory Fund, the GPA for the Ohio House of Representatives rose from a 3.22 to 3.36. The Ohio House now has a B+.
The Ohio Senate is in worse shape, but still improved from a 2.75 to 2.81. Still a B-.
Overall, the Ohio legislature rose from a 3.16 to 3.28, nearly a B+. Coupled with an A rated Governor-elect, the future looks bright for gun rights reform in Ohio.
One of the most important individual races for gun rights in Ohio was the Ohio Attorney General race, won by OFCC endorsee Marc Dann. Those of you who follow this website know how important it is to have a pro-gun AG, as Jim Petro has intervened on OFCC's behalf in several lawsuits we have filed to protect your rights. Opinions issued by the AG's office are highly influential in the courts and a strong defense of gun rights by that office is critical to keeping reform moving forward. Then, there is also the fact that reciprocity agreements which render your CHL valid in other states are completely controlled by the Ohio AG. This was a big victory.
Overall, OFCC would like to offer congratulations to all of our endorsed candidates who won, including Marc Dann, Mary Taylor, Robert Cupp, Mark Painter, John Williamowski, Diane V. Grendell, Steve Chabot, Jean Schmidt, Michael Turner, Jim Jordan, Paul Gilmore, John Boehner, Pat Tiberi, Steve LaTourette, Ralph Regula, Tim Ryan, Jon Peterson , Jim Carmichael , Matthew Huffman , Robert E. *Candidate GPA was calculated using the grades posted by the NRA-PVF for the 2006 election and historical grades issued to incumbents. Candidates without grades, or whose old grades could not be determined, were excluded. The following scale was used to calculate the GPA: A+ = 4.33, A = 4, A- = 3.67, B+ = 3.33, B = 3, B- = 2.67, C+ = 2.33, C = 2, C- = 1.67, D+ = 1.33, D = 1, F = 0.
