For the first time, three of the announced candidates for Attorney General in Ohio will appear together to speak to pro-gun activists and supporters at the Fifth Annual Ohioans For Concealed Carry Party in the Park member picnic on Sunday, August. 3rd. This fall, Richard Cordray(D), Michael Crites (R), and Robert Owens (I) will campaign to replace former AG Marc Dann (D), who resigned amidst scandal in May. "We are pleased to see these candidates actively seeking the vote of gun owners. The fact that their first appearances together at the same event isn't just a group of gun owners, but this organization, speaks volumes as to how far we have come in making gun owners' voices heard loud and clear in statewide politics," said OFCC President Jeff Garvas. Recent close elections have highlighted the importance of winning the support of pro-gun voters, not only in Ohio but across the country. Andy Swanson, the John McCain campaign Regional Coalitions Director for Ohio and Pennsylvania, will also be addressing the crowd on behalf of the GOP presidential candidate. Other politicians in attendance will include Mark Noble (L), candidate for US Congress 15th District and Dick Stobbs (R), candidate for US Congress 6th District. Cam Edwards from NRA News is scheduled to deliver the keynote address and should be a crowd favorite. This year's Party in the Park continues OFCC's strong tradition of attracting prominent candidates seeking the critical pro-gun vote in Ohio. Several other politicians, including Senator Steve Buehrer and Representative Matt Lundy, expressed regret that they would be unable to attend due to prior obligations. Tickets for the picnic are available for purchase by clicking here. Tickets are on sale until Friday, Aug. 1, though a limited number will be available for purchase at the door. In addition to interacting with pro-gun politicians and fellow firearms enthusiasts, picnic attendees will enjoy a grilled lunch of hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken; have the opportunity to win valuable door prizes; and enjoy the opportunity to try their hand at a Firearms Training Simulator, compliments of Galileo Systems of Vermilion. |
