U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, appointed by President Bill Clinton, issued an injunction today to block the rule change in national parks to allow concealed carry licensees to carry their firearms in national parks if the state the park is located in allows it.

This rule change was the result of many years of petitioning and hearings (Ohioans For Concealed Carry was a signatory of two major petitions encouraging this rule change) and went into effect shortly before President George Bush left office.

A suit filed by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the National Parks Conservation Association and the Coalition of National Park Service Retiree claimed the rule change was "astoundingly flawed."

OFCC is not prepared to just let the matter drop, and will be part of any efforts to return these hard won rights to law abiding citizens.
