OFCC Sues City of Cleveland Heights, Ohio The sign you see here is posted in Cleveland Heights Parks implying possession of a firearm is a crime. On Friday August 12th, 2011 Ohioans For Concealed Carry Filed a lawsuit against the City the City of Cleveland Heights. The litigation comes after many attempts to resolve concerns over laws that Cleveland Heights not only allowed to remain on their books, but also posted signs at their parks that continue to imply it is illegal to be armed. The City of Cleveland Heights has chosen to ignore our attempts at civil discourse. When individuals have contacted them representing themselves as residents of the City of Cleveland Heights their concerns apparently fell on deaf ears. When representatives of the organization have formally contacted the city's legal representation they've been laughed at and hung up on by the Law Director. It is this arrogance and refusal to work with Ohioans For Concealed Carry that has forced us to seek a remedy through the courts.
Our press release follows.
Canton PD Event Leads to New OFCC Legislation When officer Harless of the Canton, Ohio police department came upon a vehicle stopped in the roadway most of us were focused on getting restaurant carry legislation signed into law. What took place that evening has become an international viral video, calls for the resignation of the City Council president, and criminal charges against a man who is clearly heard trying to state that he has a license. Ohioans For Concealed Carry has not just raised thousands of dollars in a legal defense fund, but we've written legislation to resolve this matter that Representative Danny Bubp has stated he's going to introduce this fall

Second Amendment March is a grassroots organization that was started in February 2009 by author and firearms instructor, Skip Coryell. Since its inception they have received thousands of emails, thousands of sign-ups for their email newsletter, and thousands of visitors each month to their web site.

The purpose of the March is to galvanize the resolve of the American people to stand up for their right to keep and bear arms and to remind our politicians that the Bill of Rights guarantees that right as an individual freedom.

To achieve this, they will hold a peaceful, law-abiding national rally in Washington, D.C. on April 19, 2010. Along with the national rally, local rallies are planned in every state, including Ohio. Each state’s efforts for the national and statewide marches are headed up by an appointed coordinator for each state. Ohioans For Concealed Carry is heading up coordination for Ohio.

SAM organizers have consulted with a professional event organizer who has experience organizing large events in Washington, D.C. and were informed that to successfully hold this event they will need to raise up to $500,000.

Please help send the right message to Washington – that passion for the Second Amendment is alive and well in America and more mainstream than ever!

Please consider supporting the Second Amendment March through a monetary donation. Every dollar helps. A challenge was recently issued for each state to raise at least $1,000 by the end of the year. We want Ohio to meet that challenge! But, I need your help to do so.

All too often, otherwise well-intentioned people make the mistake of “watching and waiting”, not wanting to get involved until it is too late. Please help us defend the one right that protects all others. America needs you!

If everyone reading this article donates just ONE DOLLAR (or more!), we will more than meet the challenge goal! Let's show the other states how it's done! Please click on the button below to donate through the OFCC webstore.

Then, forward this link to everyone you know who loves freedom and wants to keep their gun rights secure.

As gun owners, this is OUR march and OUR turn to be heard.
