Saturday evening in Skyway, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, what is being reported as a dispute over drugs ended with one man shot several times and another in the custody of an armed citizen who was nearby.
Sources report the incident occured shortly before 9pm near the parking lot of a US Bank branch where a citizen with a concealed carry license was using an ATM. After the shooting, the armed citizen drew his firearm and performed a citizen's arrest including handcuffing the shooter.
"That's very unusual, very surprising, and not recommended," said King County sheriff's Sergeant John Urquhart, presumably of the act of handcuffing the suspect. "This guy did a great job, but we don't recommend doing that. You certainly do that at your own risk."
Seattle Gun Rights Examiner Dave Workman is reporting a statement being attributed to the armed citizen, "It's really, really, not a big deal. Anyone else would have done it. I'm hoping the publicity from this blows over in a day or two. Thanks for the kind words everyone. Just glad everyone lived, especially me."
While the victim of the shooting is likely a criminal himself, I'm sure he disagrees that it isn't a big deal and prefers injury and arrest to being subject to the shooter completing his execution attempt.
