I was told by Pam Eichenauer when I called her to clarify the situation, that it had been a rule that the board decided on a few years but was just posted on the two main entrances not long ago.. I told her I was calling before I considered renewing my yearly membership for 2011.. She checked, with a policeman on their force and he said that concealed carry was allowed on the grounds but the buildings were off limits...I told her that I never knew the Holden Arboretum had their own police force and that they are virtually invisible as far as I was concerned..I informed her that I would not be renewing my membership if the situation was to continue..
