We are unable to offer you legal advice. Generally speaking, if ammunition is not prohibited by Federal or State law, you should be able to carry it with the gun you use for your CHL. We are unable to offer information on whether your ammunition is legal or not.
You should expect that any choice of ammunition will be critically examined by a prosecutor or civil attorney in the aftermath of a shooting. For instance, premium self-defense ammo would be characterized as "super killer" bullets. Hard ball rounds could be critized as chosing military ammunition over what civilian police agencies use. Handloads, of course, will be attacked as someone trying to design a super-destructive bullet. In the end, all ammunition choices will be scrutinized, and if you find youself in a court case of any kind, be prepared to defend your choice of ammunition as reasonable.
