Most importantly, do everything you are told. Keep your hands on your steering wheel and do not reach anywhere to remove your seat belt or dig for papers. If you are driving a car registered in your name the officer likely knows that you are licensed, and any fast movements could result in an officers gun being pointed in your face. Put your hands on your wheel and wait until you are contacted by the officer, but always do what you are instructed to do and make slow movements when getting your license or other paperwork.
Warning: You must notify the police officer, deputy, or Sheriff immediately upon contact that you are licensed to carry. You may want to think about the language you'll use, such as "Officer, I am licensed to carry a concealed firearm and it is currently holstered to my right, what would you like me to do?"
Warning: If you "touch" your firearm during the officer's approach, during the stop, or as they leave you can be charged with a felony and lose your rights if convicted. This is one of many reasons that you should not make any fast or undirected movements.
