Ohio Supreme Court 2004 PDF Print
Candidate Voter Guide
In 2003, only two Ohio Supreme Court Justices out of seven voted to overturn Ohio's 150-year old ban on concealed carry. Both of those Justices were 2002 OFCC PAC endorsees!

Although the Court unanimously denied the first constitutional challenge to Ohio's Concealed Carry Reform, the law is bound to have further constitutional challenges in the courts. Thus, OFCC PAC continues to stress that the makeup of the Ohio Supreme Court is crucial.

In the last election, your votes for OFCC PAC endorsees ended a 4-3 liberal slant on the court. In 2004, it is imperative that we elect a Court committed to the Constitution. On November 2, 2004, OFCC PAC recognized there was an opportunity to replace an anti-CCW Justice with one committed to upholding the Constitutional right to bear arms!

OFCC PAC ENDORSED this candidate for Ohio Supreme Court:

Judge Judith Lanzinger - WIN!
Lanzinger will assume the seat vacated by retiring Justice Francis Sweeney (D), who voted to uphold the concealed carry ban.

Notes on other Justices who sought re-election in November 2004:
Efforts in researching Justice Terrence O'Donnell, who was appointed to the Court by Gov. Taft after President Bush called Deborah Cook to the Federal bench, did not produce enough information to make an OFCC PAC endorsement. The NRA did endorse O'Donnell, and O'Donnell has won!

Chief Justice Moyer, who voted to uphold the concealed carry ban, had opposition, but won re-election.

Justice Pfiefer (R) wrote the opinion upholding Ohio's concealed carry ban, was unopposed, and won re-election.
