I just got off the phone with Pat Kresty, assistant to Cuyahoga County Sheriff Gerald T. McFaul and she told me the Sheriff is opposed to CCW legislation.
No further details were given to me.

Michigan's CCW law, which was supposed to go into effect July 1st, is still under attack. This Toledo Blade article describes the efforts by ant-gun groups to put it to a vote of the entire state.

As a reminder to everyone involved: The House Criminal Justice Committee will be having hearings at 2:00pm Tuesday afternoon in room 114 of the State Capitol for HOUSE BILL 225. If you can make it to the meeting your attendance will be greatly appreciated. Even though this meeting is for proponent testimony there will be limited speaking slots available. Arrive as early as possible and be sure to introduce yourself if you are interested in speaking. Those of you who are sitting on the fence please understand that we need your help to fill the room! parking tip: If the statehouse parking garage is full you can park just south at the mall garage... bring a friend! |

ATTENTION OFCC MEMBERS: We are holding an annual strategy meeting on June 9th, 2001 in Columbus, Ohio. All current members are invited to attend this meeting to participate. Our agenda will be more strict than last year with an emphasis on making some serious decisions, discussing legislation, brain storming, and planning future regional meetings. If you are interested in becoming more active in OFCC, this is the meeting you want to attend. Position assignments within the organization and committees will be created. A good portion of the meeting will be breaking away into groups to discuss ways to further our goals. We are very eager in having as many of you show up as possible. Interested?
