After initially claiming they were exempt from a new Florida state law prohibiting employers from banning firearms in their employees' personal vehicles due to the fact that Disney has fireworks, the company has backed off a little.
"Until further clarification is received, Cast Members at those facilities . . . will be allowed to keep a gun locked in their personal vehicle as long as they have a concealed-weapons permit, the gun is not visible, and the gun is not removed from the vehicle or exhibited for any reason other than lawful defensive purposes," Disney said in a written statement.
"Those facilities" are those Disney properties which do not store or use fireworks. The NRA has been involved in challenging Disney's ban, particularly after an employee was fired for defying the policy in an act he believes was in compliance with state law. His case is still pending in court. |

Logan Police and Hocking County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call about a man sitting in a vehicle behind a residence who had been shot. That man turned out to be 40-year-old Roy Eugene Floyd, who was flown to OSU Medical Center to have surgery to remove four bullets. Floyd claimed to have been shot while close to the Hocking River near Scotts Creek Road. During the investigation, the tables quickly turned and now Floyd is the suspect, according to Sgt. Mike Peters of the Lancaster Police Department.
According to Peters, Nathan R. Zeger, 27, of Galion, drove to Lancaster
after responding to an advertisement for a Bobcat in the Mansfield News
Journal. When he arrived, he was approached by a man wearing a ski mask who
pointed a gun at him. Zeger, who has a concealed carry permit, pulled his
.38-caliber handgun and fired at the robbery suspect. It now is known that
the suspect did fire back, however Zeger was not injured in the incident.

The Handbook of Ohio Firearms Laws is an everyday reference to Ohio’s gun laws, written for the general public by Ohio attorney, and OFCC member, Sean M. Culley. Today, it was announced that pre-orders were being accepted.
The Handbook provides a wealth of information that is detailed enough to meet the needs of law enforcement, firearms instructors and legal professionals; but that is presented clearly and in a conversational style that anyone can understand and follow. Culley presents so much information on each topic that the Handbook is a necessary and useful reference for everyone ranging from firearms novices with the most basic questions to veteran gun owners in need of more advanced analysis. |

A Federal Judge in Georgia has decided to ignore state law and uphold an airport ban on firearms.
Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue had previously supported gun rights in the public, non-secure areas of airports, citing not only public safety but also the fact that there is no law against it on the books in Georgia.
"If my wife wanted to carry a gun, if she was going from the parking lot, walking from one of those far parking lots to pick up a grandchild or something like that, I think that's a good idea, yes," he was quoted as saying
After Atlanta officials decided to declare Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport a "gun free zone," pro-gun group GeorgiaCarry.org filed a lawsuit to block the ban. |

As a gun owner, you never know when you might need to find an attorney who can represent you. Many experts recommend you find and establish a relationship with an attorney before you need one, particularly when it comes to self-defense.
One of the most common requests Ohioans For Concealed Carry receives is regarding how to find a pro-gun attorney. With that in mind, we have created a directory to help you find an attorney who might suit your needs. This Directory is intended only as a guide for locating counsel, and should not be considered an endorsement by Ohioans For Concealed Carry of any of the attorneys listed.
We strongly encourage you to sit down and meet with any attorney you're considering hiring. We recommend that you consider more than just one attorney to be sure you find the right fit. It is a very common practice for an attorney to sit down with you and discuss your needs briefly free of charge. If you're serious about pursuing an attorney we encourage you to research anyone who you might need to defend you.
This service is provided to all Ohio gun owners free of charge, and we invite any pro-gun attorney to submit their listing, also free of charge.

Ohioans For Concealed Carry is pleased to announce the re-launch of OhioCCWTraining.org!
OhioCCWTraining.org is a free resource dedicated to helping all Ohioans locate quality firearms training classes in their area. First launched in 2004, our training site has become a popular resource, and we are confident this re-design will improve usability for those seeking classes.
Firearms training instructors can list their training classes for any skill level, including basic firearms safety, safe handling and storage, concealed carry training, and advanced defensive tactics. Classes are displayed in an easy to read calendar view, making it easy for those seeking training to find an upcoming class close to home. The calendar is also color coded for ease of use, and you can search by city or county.
This entire service is provided free of charge, so visit OhioCCWTraining.org today! |
