Are Ohioans ready for concealed-weapons law? - Here we have a few letters to the editors of the Cleveland Plain Dealer from yesterday. As usual Lori O'Neill's letter is full of lies and misleading information. For instance, she suggests all background checks are conducted by the FBI. As she says in her own letter "if she only read the legislation" she would know that HB274 utilizes the The Ohio Bureau of Criminal identification & Investigation (BCI) to perform background investigations. O'Neill goes on to falsely claim if you've "ever had a hunting license" you can get a permit to carry a concealed firearm. It's amazing that she didn't suggest felons and mental patients could obtain CCW permits -- oh wait -- she did.

Today there is a great article in, of all places, The Toledo Blade: Allen County sheriff has lock on office. This article primarily focuses Sheriff Dan Beck's character. Then there is the opposition. The Columbus Dispatch is running this article: State Patrol uneasy about biting bullet on concealed-carry bill. If you compare Mr. Beck's views to the Ohio State Patrol's views the comparison is night and day. The Ohio State Patrol (and the Dispatch's political editor) print misleading lies, threats of wild west shootouts, and more.

Go to The Citizens Of America Web Site to listen to some fabulous Pro-Gun/Pro CCW radio spots. These PSA's can drown out anti-gun rhetoric with facts which are presented in a blunt and direct manner. You'll need a MP3 player or Real Player to listen to them.
For those of you who do not have access to the internet, but live in or around Butler County, it's possible to listen to these PSA's on the Ken Hamblin show which is on 1450 WMOH 3pm-6pm M-F. Ken has been playing these spots at random during his show. |

The Columbus Dispatch has released the results of a Buckeye State Poll conducted by The Ohio State University and WBNS-TV.
The Buckeye State Poll has proven our point: The way you ask the question has a serious impact on the results of the poll. Many of you may recall the Ohio Poll Fiasco. The director of that poll has stated that gun control activists who use their numbers to impact legislation is "a stretch". The Buckeye State Poll numbers have shown that, when the issue is described in greater detail, more people are inclined to support the concept of concealed carry reform legislation. Infact, some 67% favor a concealed carry law including education and a background check in this poll which was more fairly worded.

Don't be fooled by the Dayton Daily's article titled Guns should be for everyone. It's an extremely sarcastic piece of trash written by a disabled man who simply doesn't get the point. In any event, it shines a great light on the state of mind of those opposed to concealed carry rights.
