Trigger a veto -- This is from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the same newspaper that once said the Ohio General Assembly should pass some kind of concealed carry reform because of the way an individual was unfairly treated in Lakewood Ohio. Go figure. letters to the editors:

We've found three news stories online covering Wednesday's concealed carry debate (8/15) as well as coverage of our now highly advertised meeting with both members of the sub-committee and HB274's primary sponsor. You can read them each here: The Columbus Dispatch | The Toledo Blade | Capitol Gate. Clarification: Ohioans For Concealed Carry has not made an official change our our position regarding HB274. We have been and remain opposed to HB274 as it was introduced. However, we are optomistic now of HB274's passage and we look forward to the sub-committees clear intentions to offer a substitute bill which we understand will include numerous modifications. keep calling and writing your lawmakers!

Suspect in murder didn't pull trigger -- This "strange" title from Wednesday's Columbus Dispatch is true. The accomplice in a home invasion is being charged with murder because his friend was shot and killed by the home owner. The connection? Both we're involved in a home invasion and the actions of the to-be-charged suspect resulted in his friend's death. This is one of those cases where the occupant of the home was lucky enough to have a firearm readily available for self-defense.
Anyone who has ever doubted the dangers of mandatory safe storage should carefully read (twice) the accounts drawn out in this story. Our sympathy goes out to the family whose father was forced to pull the trigger. Note: It appears Columbus has seen an epidemic of home invasions in the past two weeks. Criminals are becoming more confrontational instead of robbing you when you're at work. |

This story starts off with stem cell research. Scroll past it and each following letter is about concealed carry. Many of them applaud "keeping more guns off the streets". These people must be the typical sheeple because they don't seem to realize the guns "on the streets" now are typically in the hands of criminals. We're talking about allowing lawful individuals to do the same for self-defense. Is it just me, or is it ironic that rape victims are advocating being raped over preventing it with a firearm because they are so strongly opposed to civilian firearm ownerhship?Dayton Daily News Letters to the Editor |

It's hard to believe a two year old child has the ability to pull the trigger of a typical .45 DA, but that is the apparent blame for this accidental shooting in Stark County. This authors way of making his story non-biased? Quote all of the national gun control organizations and then list telephone numbers for all of the organizations in the end of his article. Typical.Gun-danger messages go unheeded |

This Cincinnati Post editorial, once again, misses the point of CCW, and uses fear, emotion, and lies to make thier point.Referring to law-abiding citizens as bozo's and suggesting that guns will be blazing at every car accident, is irresponsible journalism at its worst. If they want to see bozo's, all they have to do is look in the mirror.
