tisk tisk! The Cincinnati Post is running this story regarding the temporary restraining order which was issued to prevent Cincinnati Police Chief Thomas Streicher from entering the home he shares with his estranged wife. Ms. Streicher makes some harsh accusations against the Chief, and if they're true he's in for a world of hurt. Cincinnati residents should be tripping over themselves to contact Cincinnati Safety Director Kent Ryan, City Manager John F. Shirley (513-352-5200), and city council members to demand that Chief Thomas Streicher's duty weapon be confiscated until this issue is solved. The ATF says: "anyone who is subject to a court order restraining the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of the intimate partner" is prohibited from posessing a firearm

note: this is a non-ccw issue, but relatively important. -jeff [] ABA Journal, April, 2001, issue has an article titled: "Lawyer-advocates mount national gun control effort" headlined Battles Won, War Continues. The basic idea of the article is that what can't be done on a national level should be approached on a local level - and they have picked three states where laws allow for local gun control intiatives. The group has targeted Colorado, Illinois and Ohio. Read the story here

An effort to allow Ohio's law-abiding citizens to carry a concealed weapon has the support of many legislators, including Ohio Rep. Nancy Hollister of Marietta. Many people are predicting the issue will surface again this year. Ohio is just one of seven states that does not allow citizens to carry a concealed weapon. The issue has wide support among people who believe it's their right to carry a gun for protection. Read it here: The Marietta Times

URGENT: BOYCOTT WTAM & TRIV ADVERTISERS PDF Print E-mail

On Friday, March 23rd 2001 Mike Trivisonno (click here for biography/picture on WTAM website), quite possibly Cleveland talk-radio's most popular show and time slot on WTAM 1100 AM again insulted gun owners on his show. Mr. Trivisonno, probably one of the most obnoxious big mouths in broadcast media, supposedly called into his own show during his vacation to call the NRA and it's membership "Crazy, Redneck, Sons of Bitches". Trivisonno apparently blames the NRA, it's membership, and people like you and me for school shootings. If you're a long time follower of our efforts you'll remember he did the same thing in November of 1999 (link to old website). If you live in the northern Ohio area consider getting involved in this boycott yet again. For more information, please read on... UPDATED: Sunday, 11:53pm: See included FCC rules on personal attacks!
