Monday, 26 February 2001
Fox 8 News in Cleveland did a story last night (02/25) on proposed CCW legislation. Although it appeared to be balanced, it ended with the same line every other story has. "If police groups don't support it, neither will the Governor."

Corrections Officer Shoots Attacker PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Sunday, 25 February 2001
NBC affiliate WKYC Channel 3 (Cleveland) aired and published this story on their website Saturday evening. Apparently a corrections officer (non-commissioned) was attacked in Warrensville Heights, Ohio (suburb of Cleveland) and stabbed. He apparently shot and killed his attacker, but remains in intensive care recovering from the stabbing to his neck. Ohio law, by definition, prohibits this individual from carrying a concealed weapon. However, he more than likely will not be brought up on charges. This is yet another case of justified self-defense with a firearm, but it's also another example of "just the cops" getting to have that right every one of us should have.

Additional stories include Some Ohioans ready to pack guns if law changes and Lawmakers planning comeback for concealed-carry -- What does all this attention mean? Simple: We need to start writing letters to our law makers and newspapers.
