Here we go again. The City of Cincinnati decided to throw a curve ball at the plaintiffs in the Klein v. Leis lawsuit a few months ago, so they tried to bring in Handgun Contol, Inc. lawyers as co-counsel. Seeing this as a stunt the judge refused, they appealed. The appeals court refused, they appealed. This caused the issue to get literally stuck in the Ohio Supreme Court Calendar where apparently the City thought it would stay for a very very long time. (read more)
The plaintiffs wanted nothing to do with this. The plaintiff's argument is so SIMPLE that it really doesn't matter who represents the City of Cincinnati, the argument won't really change. So the plaintiffs dropped their opposition and the City of Cincinnati was welcome to bring Handgun Control, Inc. in as co-counsel. But guess what? It was a bluff, and now the City looks stupid and asked for a week to think about if they really want HCI to represent them. The judge, who has been extremely patient with them, has granted them yet another week. Follow the details here: Klein v. Leis
