Beginning Saturday May 3, 2003 Miami Valley Law Enforcement Training will open a 34 point outdoor pistol, rifle and shotgun range. Located on the site of the former Miami Valley Shooting Grounds, the range is located less than 1.5 miles from I-75 at the Little York Road exit.
The new training range will be open to range members on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm during spring and summer. The range , weather permitting, will be open until sunset on those days during fall and winter seasons. Click on the "Read More ..." link for the rest of the story. Range memberships are available to active and retired members of law enforcement and the military. Memberships will also be accepted from members of private security and active NRA members. As a grand opening special, a one year range membership can be purchased for only $50 for a limited time. The staff of MVLET includes some of the most experienced and recognized firearms trainers in the region. Instructors include nationally recognized experts and survivors of police combat. Advanced training classes will be available as well. Many area agencies have difficulty scheduling requalifications or practice times for officers. Range facilities can be scheduled during available times for agencies, groups, competition, or special events. OPOTC certified instructors are available for academies, requalifications, or advanced training. Local facilities have not been available for training or skill retention for quite some time. MVLET strives to serve the public safety community to fill that void. The special grand opening price of $50 for range membership is subject to change without notice. Act now by completing an application and mailing it to MVLET for processing.
