The National Rifle Association is the only gun rights organization supporting HB274, a restrictive permit based right to carry reform package. You can download the legislation in pdf form right here if you'd like to read it yourself. On Wednesday, June 20th, 2001 there will be an additional hearing on HB274 for proponents. In a move which has united every single grassroots gun rights organization in Ohio we are asking you to attend this hearing, but refuse to speak. Do not fill out a testimony slip, just take notes and fill a seat. We do not support HB274 in it's introduced form and we are pushing the sub-committee to reform the bill. We will be speaking (and we encourage you to speak) at opponent and "interested party" hearings. By speaking at a proponent hearing you are making a statement of support even though you, like us, probably don't support the language in HB274. The meeting will be in room 313 at 2:30pm or immediately after session in the House, please arrive early.
