Lt. Gov. Maureen O'Connor's interest in a Washington job comes as Ohio's top GOP officials begin focusing on payback for delivering the state for George W. Bush.
Read more at the Columbus Dispatch Ohio Sen. Mike DeWine personally recommended O'Connor for the No. 2 spot at the U.S. Justice Department during a meeting yesterday with John Ashcroft, Bush's nominee for attorney general and a former Senate colleague from Missouri. Likewise, Gov. Bob Taft is touting O'Connor for a Justice job, as are Sen. George V. Voinovich and John A. Calhoun, head of the National Crime Prevention Council in Washington. I think I'd hate to see her go, what with recent discussion about her CCW. |
