Commentary by Larry S. Moore, OFCC Senate District 10 coordinator:

The Dayton Daily News is reporting a home invasion with shots fired. The incident happened on Finley Street about 11:00 PM. The homeowner reportedly heard a noise and investigated when the intruder pointed a gun at him and fired. Fortunately the shot missed its mark. The homeowner and a friend fled the house. The police reported that nothing was stolen so the reason for the invasion and shot fired remain a mystery.

Again, only the prepared homeowner can defend his life. This homeowner was extremely fortunate that he was able to run and flee his home. Homeowners should not have to be concerned about safety or being forced to flee their residences. However, there are many similar stories reported each week.

Are you a prepared homeowner or do you count on luck to be able to flee? Only a prepared homeowner can defend their life and family. Do you have a home self-defense plan or are you counting on luck? Lesson One: Guns save lives.
