HEADS UP: Now is the time many of us have been waiting for. House Bill 274 is scheduled for opponent testimony. This is where people who are opposed to the legislation are given a chance to be heard. This is probably one of the most important hearings that will occur in Ohio when it comes to concealed carry legislation this year. As many of you know, every grassroots organization in Ohio is opposed to many elements of the language in House Bill 274. We need your help to staff this room with as many supporters as possible. If you're an OFCC member with an official denim shirt we need you to show up wearing it! This room will be packed tight with extremely anti-self-defense MMM and OCAGV members. We will be publically competing with the other side. Even if you come just to fill a seat, please do it! (read more)
The hearing starts at 2:30pm in room 313. Since the House is in recess there is no threat of session disrupting this starting time, but nothing is ever written in stone. Please arrive early, as finding room 313 can be tricky to new comers. If you want a shirt the day of the event, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to see if any will be available. Payment "on site" must be in cash, otherwise you can order one off the website. (It will take 6-8 weeks to arrive) Parking can be found under the statehouse. Since the General Assembly is in recess, parking may not be as much of a problem as normal. If the lot is full, go directly south and park in the mall lot. (slightly more expensive) If you are not already a member of CCW-ALERT please consider joining today. (See sidebar on left) YOUR ATTENDANCE AT THIS MEETING COULD MEAN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NO CCW LEGISLATION AND GOOD CCW LEGISLATION. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU USE THAT SICK DAY TO SHOW UP AND MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD. OUR GOAL IS TO TELL THE 5 MEMBER COMMITTEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH HB274 SO THEY CAN BEGIN WORKING ON THE FIXES AND STOP DRAGGING THEIR FEET. |
