Avondale residents told Cincinnati Channel 5 "Gun fire is as common as the sound of crickets in the summer".

In the past two days two shootings have taken place in broad daylight, at least one of them near a public park.

On Thursday afternoon a man was shot in the back multiple times, possibly while unloading a moving truck. He later died from his injuries. His acquaintance was shot in the shoulder and is expected to survive his injuries.

On Wednesday multiple shots were fired into a public Metro bus, hitting a kid in the hand.

From Channel 5's website:
Witnesses in Avondale said two gunmen opened fire and hit two men. A 25-year-old man stumbled almost 100 feet before he collapsed in a driveway. He was taken to University Hospital, where he died.

The two victims were standing near a U-Haul on the 3600 block of Reading Road when the shooting started. The gunmen fled on foot.
Cincinnati Police have responded by "stepping up their presence" in the area.
