By Rick Jones Now would be a very appropriate time for one to obtain their concealed handgun license. Why is this you ask? There are several good reasons for this statement. First: Natural disasters, There has never been such a natural disaster as “Katrina” that has hit the U.S.A. When a disaster of such magnitude hits panic and chaos is soon to follow. Second: When such a natural disaster hits, food, water, medicines, and other necessary supplies are redirected to the affected areas creating short supplies in the non-affected areas of the country. With these shortages come higher prices, shortages and price gouging. The dramatic increase in prices of goods and services creates more panic, chaos, price gouging and hording. Third: During this type of situation the “social predator” will take advantage of such panic, chaos and mayhem and apply their trade to the unsuspecting, weak, young and elderly. The rapid increase in prices of essential goods and services will bring shortages to one’s personal financial resources. This in turn could result in the increase of personal and property crimes. At times like these one should remember the Boy Scouts motto of “be prepared”. Most households today have items that they hope they will never need, such as smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, house and car insurance and first aid kits. A handgun could very well fit into this category of hoping to never need one. With the availability of concealed handgun license training classes and the reduced amount of time for issuance, it could very well be the best policy of protection for you, your family, and your loved ones. Take the training and apply for your concealed handgun license today. Rick Jones is a volunteer for Ohioans For Concealed Carry |
