If certain key Repubicans in Columbus are to be believed, we may not see any concealed carry reform in Ohio this session.

John McCarthy, of the Associated Press, is reporting that:
Senate President Bill Harris and House Speaker Jon Husted, both Republicans, say their priorities over the next nine months are reviving Ohio's economy, creating jobs and trying to contain the price of energy, especially gasoline and natural gas.

Rep. Bill Seitz, a Cincinnati Republican who sponsored the gay marriage ban, said many of the so-called values issues have already become law and it's time to focus on pocketbook issues.

While we certainly applaud efforts to improve Ohio's economy and financial standing, we have to insist that social and quality of life issues remain top priority items.

The CCW issue has the potential to save lives like no other issue can and cannot be left to rot by the wayside while more "politically correct" issues take center stage.

We encourage you to visit our Legislative Contact system to write your representatives and remind them that their priorities need to be in line with your priorities.
