EXCLUSIVE STORY! Ohioans For Concealed Carry has learned that the Belmont County Sheriff's Office is sending letters to concealed handgun license holders demanding that they complete a one page document verifying their address, and asking if they still have their concealed handgun licenses. Worse, the document states that you "MUST" complete this form because it is "a part of the requirements of having a CCW Permit." If you live in Belmont County, or if you obtained your license from the Belmont County Sheriff's Office, you may have received this letter. Making up "rules" with the implication that a licensee may lose their license for failure to comply "within two weeks" raises ethical questions -- especially when the mandate is fictional.
