Unlike several other home invasions that have been reported lately, a possible home invasion in Dayton Tuesday had very different results.

45-year-old Emmanuel Cain crashed through the front window of a Kimberly Circle home and ended up in the hospital with two gunshot wounds. He is now facing criminal charges.

The investigation is ongoing, but the homeowner has not been charged.

More information is available from the Dayton Daily News:
The man pounded on the front door of the home on Kimberly Circle, terrifying the couple inside.

Then he smashed the front window, climbed inside and went to the living room where he met the male homeowner, who was holding a gun.

"(The homeowner) told him to stay back, but he didn't listen," Lt. John Huber said.

The 62-year-old man then shot the intruder several times.

The suspect claimed he wasn't trying to rob the home, but was fleeing from assailants. Police have not found any evidence to support his claims.
