For those who haven't noticed, there is a link on this website to submit news stories. Often times, the stories submitted are already known to us or aren't really usable, but sometimes we get very good leads and always credit the submitter.

And then, there are the times when we get hate messages from the anti-gunners. This morning, I received the following from a person calling himself (or herself) "I hope you shoot yourself":

The old saying 'guns don't kill people, people kill people' is [profanity] propaganda. HOw easy would it be for a 16 yr old weakling to kill all his classmates if there were no guns around? you are all a bunch of idiots. I hope you accidentally kill someone and have to live with it all your life. (sic)

While I certainly understand that not everyone agrees with our position that guns save lives and that criminals need to be held responsible for their actions, I'm appalled that someone would wish harm upon another person solely to prove a point.

Messages like this support the works of noted pro-gun authors such as John Lott and Dave Grossman who note that oftentimes the reason people hate guns is because they are projecting their own violent tendencies upon others. Since they themselves are violent and cannot handle the responsibility of lawful firearms ownership, they do not believe others can either.

While disarming themselves is certainly good policy, wanting to disarm others because of their own paranoia is a sign of a serious psychological problem.
