A seventeen year old girl was assaulted in Maple Heights as she sat in her car at the corner of Donnybrook and Warrensville Center roads.
She said the man claimed to have a gun, then assaulted and robbed her. Fortunately, he was apprehended by police and is under investigation as a suspect in another, similar case.
Fortunately for the girl, she was not seriously injured or killed. Under Ohio law, she still has four years to go until she can legally carry a firearm to protect herself. Criminals do not adhere to arbitrary age limits, and it should be up to parents, not the government, to determine when young adults are mature enough to be responsible for their own safety. |
