We previously reported that the Wisconsin Senate approved a bill that would make that state the 47th state to have licensing for ccw. Today, the Wisconsin Assembly passed an amended bill, 64-32. The amended bill will now go back to the Senate where it will either be passed as written, or further amended. There is the possibility that a joint committee will be needed, as occurred in Ohio prior to H.B. 12 being passed. Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle has vowed to veto the legislation, as he did last year. The Wisconsin legislature is trying to amass enough support for the bill to override his veto. We wish Wisconsin the best of luck in their efforts. |
