Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin is promising to work to institute a total handgun ban in his country in a series of campaign promises. However, polls indicate his plan is not popular with voters: Almost 60% of 2,013 Canadians surveyed don't buy the PM's vow that an outright ban will have the desired effect. Earlier this year, officials in Brazil attempted a country-wide gun ban that was defeated at the polls. In the United States, the so called "Assault Weapons Ban" was allowed to expire peacefully as a failed experiment, and right to carry legislation has swept the country in the last few years. Liberal polititians have not learned that their lies are not fooling the general public. It is the criminals, not the tools they use, that are to be blamed for crime.Making regular citizens defenseless does not protect them from those who would prey upon them. |
