From the Enquirer:
Facing a potentially difficult state-wide election – and his Republican Party possibly losing control of the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners – Phil Heimlich announced today he won’t run for lieutenant governor. Instead, Heimlich will seek re-election for a second four-year term as commissioner, a job he has held since Jan.1, 2003. George Vincent, chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party, said he asked Petro last Thursday to release Heimlich from his obligation to run as lieutenant governor.
This unfortunate turn of events for the Petro campaign leaves many questions unanswered.

Will the Petro campaign move quickly to name a new running mate or wait for Ken Blackwell or Betty Montgomery to name their running mate?

Are we on the verge of a Republican candidate dropping out of the primary race? Only time will tell.
