Follow Up - Wisconsin CCW Bill Goes To Governor PDF Print E-mail

Yesterday, the Wisconsin Senate approved the CCW bill earlier passed by the Assembly and it will now head for Governor Jim Doyle's desk. He has vowed to veto the bill, as he did with the last one.

Differing from Ohio's law, the Wisconsin one is a true Carrying Concealed Weapons bill, and would authorize law abiding citizens to protect themselves with handguns, knives, billy clubs and stun guns in most public places.

A similar bill made it to Doyle in 2003, which he vetoed. The Senate overrode his veto, but the Assembly failed to do so by one vote. Supporters are confident they have the votes to prevail this time.
