It can't be said that this headline is a surprise, or that it wasn't seen coming in the "three-way" (don't forget Pete Draganic) race for the Republican nomination in the 2006 Governor's race. To the delight of Ohio gun owners, Betty Montgomery is expected to drop out of the race for Governor in 2006 later today. However, Montgomery threatens to stir up the race for Attorney General next, becoming the third candidate to seek that Republican primary nod. The Columbus Dispatch had an article last night titled Montgomery to quit governor’s race Sources said Montgomery will announce her withdrawal from the governor's race this morning in Bowling Green during a press conference at the Wood County Courthouse, where she served eight years as county prosecutor beginning in 1981.Just how dangerous is Betty Montgomery in the Governor or Attorney General's office? Almost exactly one year ago today OFCC member Tim Inwood wrote a rather telling event recap about Ms. Montgomery that can not be forgotten. Today he reminded us of that essay, and there is more where that came from.
