Another Anti-gun Candidate Running for State Office PDF Print E-mail

Democratic Representative Barbara Sykes, one of the few legislators to vote against HB12, confirmed today that she will be running for State Auditor in a bid to replace Betty Montgomery.

Sykes is flip-flopping on her earlier announcement that she would be retiring from politics.

Montgomery is vacating her seat to run for Attorney General, a post she previously held for 8 years before being elected as State Auditor in 2002. Montgomery had thrown her hat in the ring for the Ohio governor's seat, but withdrew today after trailing GOP frontrunners Blackwell and Petro badly in nearly all polls.
