Ohioans For Concealed Carry has learned that Representative Tom Raga (R-67), a southern Ohio Republican, will join the Blackwell ticket running for Lt. Governor.

Raga had been a front running of many potential picks Blackwell was known to be considering.

Representative Raga voted in favor of Ohio House Bill 12, Ohio's current concealed carry law and is a co-sponsor of HB347, the concealed carry reform legislation that we've chronicled for many months. Raga is also a co-sponsor of Representative Brinkman's Alaska style concealed carry bill, HB91.

From the Akron Beacon Journal:
The three-term lawmaker "shares Blackwell's vision of job creation, economic growth and fiscal restraint," Blackwell's campaign said in a statement Sunday evening.

Raga, of Mason, 19 miles northeast of Cincinnati, is vice chairman of the House Finance and Appropriations Committee. He was re-elected to the House without opposition in 2004.

Blackwell campaign spokesman Gene Pierce said neither candidate would comment Sunday night. Raga was to be officially introduced at appearances Monday with Blackwell in Toledo, Dayton and Cincinnati.
