The Middletown Journal apparently doesn't get it in their March 17th Editorial where they blame Republicans for the amendment to HB9 that eliminates the open records issue. Despite the fact that the vote was 51-43 and consisted of thirteen Democrats, the Middletown Journal seems to think Republicans alone are responsible. Of course, this showdown over Brinkman’s stunt wouldn’t be taking place if lawmakers had not adopted an unneeded concealed-carry law in the first place, and then inserted a flawed concession — only reporters can view the name of permit holders, not the general public — in order to win Taft’s signature. If less than half of the Democrats who voted in favor of it voted no the amendment would have failed. The Middletown Journal fails to concede that simple fact. Can the liberal bias be any more blatant? |
