Ohio Store Owner Stops Robbery PDF Print E-mail

A Roselawn, Ohio store owner put a stop to a robbery in short order on Monday night in this Cincinnati suburb.

In a Channel Cincinnati news report, the would be robber entered the Shop Rite on Reading Road with the intent to rob the store at approximately 9:30 and confronted the store owner, who apparently did not see the need to comply with the alleged robbers intentions.

The owner said he pulled out a gun and shot at the robber. He told officers that he thought he hit the man in the leg.

The would-be robber did get way from the store, which now has a front door riddled with bullet holes; but ironically, "just before 11:00 p.m. a man came to the emergency room of University Hospital with a GSW to the leg."  Police were dispatched to the hospital and "determined that the victim may be the robbery suspect".

Little other information is available as the shooting is still under investigation, and a call placed to the store owner reached only an answering machine.

It is becoming more and more apparent that tolerance for thieves and the likes, is taking a downward spiral. In this particular case, based on the limited information available, this individual has taken the stance that it simply will not happen in his place of business. The next financially challenged person who thinks about robbing a store in Roselawn might want to reconsider his chosen profession.
