Update: Jeff Garvas has reported in after the hearing. While the bill was not voted out of committee, there were only three people in attendance presenting opposition testimony. All other testimony was in favor of passage. Jeff will give a full report when he gets back. The Senate Criminal Justice Committee will be holding a hearing for proponent, opponent, and interested testimony with a possible vote on Sub. House Bill 347, on Wednesday, May 17 at 9:00 a.m., in Room 121, of the State House. Ohioans For Concealed Carry strongly urges all of our membership and supporters to attend this meeting wearing OFCC shirts, or if not available, blue denim or navy blue polo shirts to show solidarity. Written testimony is strongly encouraged even if you choose to read from it while addressing the committee. Bring thirty (30) copies of your written testimony to distribute to the committee. If you can, please car pool with friends even if those friends will not be speaking at the event -- the more seats filled, the better we get our point across that Ohio's law abiding concealed handgun license holders want this reform to become law. |
