Minford man shoots suspected burglar armed with a rifle |

The Portsmouth Daily Times is reporting that an early morning shooting, apparently in self-defense, took place Thursday in Minford, Ohio. The suspected burglary suspect was killed in the altercation.
“What are you doing here?” Tackett asked, according to Murphy.
“I'm here to kill you,” Bays answered, according to Murphy.
Murphy said Bays then raised the rifle to shoot Tackett, when Tackett shot and killed Bays.
Neither coverage by the The Daily Times nor WSAZ Channel 3 News indicated if the shooter, who came to the residence after being called by his son, had a license to carry a concealed handgun. Regardless, it appears as if the case is being treated as a self-defense shooting.
