Euclid Park Drive By Shooting PDF Print E-mail

With recent news about parks banning guns comes proof yet again that parks and play grounds are anything but safe havens. Tonight, the news media is reporting "Breaking News" in Euclid, Ohio where a drive by shooting apparently took place.

According to news reports a blue vehicle drove by and eight to nine shots were heard by neighbors. A man and a woman in the park were shot, possibly in the head. Both were transported to the hospital and their status is unknown.

A neighbor took down detailed notes of the fleeing vehicle and police arrested a suspect in the area of 260th Street. Casings and an "assault rifle" were reportedly found in the vehicle.

Recently, a Cuyahoga County Mayors Association attempted to make the case for prohibiting concealed carry in parks. This is just another extreme example of why self-defense in a park is a legitimate and valid neccesity. Gun owners are not a threat to a peaceful society. Drive-by shootings, rapists, violent criminals and child predators hiding in the woods are.

If the Euclid park in question was illegaly posted "No Guns" we must ask, what good did it do tonight?
