Gun owners in Ohio should be proud of the successes seen in three Statewide races decided Tuesday. OFCC Endorsee Marc Dann came from behind in a last minute victory following an NRA blitz post card to Ohio gun owners. Dann appears to have won the seat hands down and will become Ohio's next Attorney General. Anyone familiar with Ohioans For Concealed Carry litigation and the process of determining reciprocity agreements will understand how important it is to have a favorable candidate in this seat. Despite attempts to portray herself as pro-gun most gun owners saw the light and ended Montgomery's second run for Attorney General.
Ohioans For Concealed Carry was the first to endorse Secretary Of State Ken Blackwell in his bid to become Governor. Before any of the results were made public Blackwell conceded the election to Ted Strickland -- an A rated NRA candidate, who won the race with an overwhelming margin. Strickland stated he would sign HB347 into law and we look forward to working with Governor Elect Strickland should Bob Taft stop or hinder HB347's progress. We have a comprehensive list of election results lower in this story... As we write this OFCC Endorsee Mary Taylor has a commanding lead of 80,000 votes over her Democrat opponent. Taylor's victory is important as the Auditor is one of many who sit on the board of appropriation and determine redistricting. We hesitantly congratulate Taylor on what appears to be a pro-gun win in a statewide race. Other races appear to be too close to call tonight. On Wednesday morning OFCC will continue to update the results below and bring a futher recap of the election results. If you have not followed televised reports you'll soon find out that Republican control of the House may have been lost, and the Senate majority is yet to be determined. We do not expect any major changes of power in the Ohio House or Senate at this time, and look forward to working with both new and old friends in the General Assembly. |
