The Springfield News-Sun is reporting that shortly after 10:30p.m. Tuesday night at least two suspects attempted to forcibly enter a home in German Township. A scuffle ensued between residents and the suspects. Despite one resident being grazed by a shot another picked up a handgun dropped by one of the suspects and returned fire in what appears to be self-defense. The Clark County Sheriff apparently stated that the suspects appeared to have been armed. Home invasions are on the rise across the country and this is just another example of residents defending themselves. Although the facts are not in and we don't know what led up to the shooting it sounds as if the occupants of the house should be justified in their use of force. |
