In a foreshadowing of what could happen in Ohio should OFCC lose the battle for Statewide preemption currently being deliberated by the Ohio Supreme Court, courtroom proceedings begin in Philadelphia today to determine whether five gun control laws passed by the city of Philadelphia are constitutional. The laws (including a one-gun-a-month restriction and a new law making it a crime to fail to report a firearm was stolen) were passed by Mayor Michael Nutter because "the city needed to act because the state hasn't." Never trust your gun rights to one anti-gun politician who can take them away with the stroke of a pen. That's the lesson the Ohio Supreme Court needs to keep in mind as they hear arguments and deliberate. |
