Store Clerk Fights Back PDF Print E-mail

Last week, an Akron store clerk fought back when three suspects tried to rob the Delia Street Market. At least one of the suspects was observed on video brandishing a gun and threatening customers and employees.

The clerk retrieved his own firearm and fired on the suspects, hitting one and sending all three running.

Instead of praising the clerk for his quick thinking and defense of himself and the other innocent victims present, NewsNet5 simply concluded, "Police said they don't encourage anyone to take the law into their own hands."

Last time I checked, defending yourself against a violent, armed attack isn't taking the law into your own hands. NewsNet5 should be ashamed of themselves for letting their own bias show through and taint the accomplishment of this brave store clerk who took the steps necessary to ensure the safety of himself and his fellow law-abiding citizens. To him I say, well done, sir. Well done indeed.
