Michael Neal Pemberton may become the next Patrick Feely, but only time will tell. Mr. Pemberton was caught by the Ohio State Patrol
while parked along I-75 during foggy conditions. He tells the story best, so read on if you're interested in what is likely to become a very interesting battle or plea bargain.

I have a valid Georgia permit which is good in all states surrounding Ohio, I had went to Michigan with a friend to help him drive. When coming back it was foggy and about 2:30 in the morning. My friend was asleep and I too started getting sleepy and could hardly see due to the darkness and fog, the closest rest area was about 37 miles from our location. So rather than taking the chance of endangering our lives or any other patrons I chose to pull off on the shoulder of I-75 S. to get a little rest and give the fog time to settle. I took a pistol from my bag and put it on for protection in case there was any trouble. We were woke up by an Ohio State trooper pecking on the drivers window. I was in the drivers seat and I am left handed so the hip holster I was wearing was facing the officer. She asked for identification at which point I informed her before I reached down to my pocket that I was wearing a hip holster, she then asked me to step out of the vehicle, which I did, I placed my hands on the trunk of the vehicle and informed her of my concealed to carry permit, she took my pistol from the holster and placed me in her patrol car, while there she asked if there were any other weapons in the vehicle and I informed her of another pistol I had in my bag. She then radioed for assistance and 3 other officers came to the scene, they placed my friend in another patrol car and kept us there for 1 1/2 hours while they searched our vehicle and left it in very poor condition, after completing their search and finding nothing other than the pistol I informed them of my friend was released and they came back to me and placed me under arrest for carrying a concealed weapon and transported me to Allen County Jail in Lima, Ohio, the pistol they charged me with was the one that I was wearing in the holster and in plain sight. I am now awaiting a decision of indictment from the Grand Jury, when I receive word of a court date I will send the information to you.
