Okay. You probably think this is silly. I am only 14 years old, and besides that, a GIRL! However, I understand more about these matters than you would think!

I understand that gun control, no matter how slight it may seem, is part of a bigger scam than you would think possible. If the government takes or prohibits the right to keep and bear arms, we will be in the same position as the other countries in this world. Fully dependent upon our government for protection as they see fit. They say it is for our own good, the welfare of adults and children alike. They say that it would fix the problem of the school shootings, armed robberies, and terrorist attacks. They could not be more wrong!

Duh! Think about drugs! They are illegal! However, the people AND KIDS who want them, for whatever reason, can still get them. Good law abiding citizens would never think about getting drugs.

EXACTLY THE SAME THING WITH GUNS! The law abiding citizens would be without guns or protection, however those that want to do the shootings and robberies and terrorism will still be able to get them. Really, the prohibiting of gun possession will only be a help to them in their acts of evil. They can still get the weapons they need and their victims will have NO MEANS OF PROTECTION! If you think the police will protect you from such things, think again! It takes time for police to get there, if they do not have more demanding appointments first, and that is more than enough time for a fatal crime to be committed!

I am normally quiet and hold my tongue, but certain issues, especially the subject of gun control, I hate with a passion and will do my best to make the truth be heard on such important matters as these that you will not be deceived.

Our forefathers realized the wisdom of providing the common people, our best means of defense, with a source of protection. Why then do we wish to go along with the removal and change of such a wise addition to our constitution?

Besides the previous reasons that a means of protection is needed, our own government is one thing we desperately need a means of defense against. As most people realize, our government has few, if any, morals. They may, ever so cunningly, take our guns, our most efficient means of protection, then they may imply... anything, anything they set their minds to they may force upon us. Thus creating a dictatorship. Not the free country we know now.

They sugar coat their lies. A lot of it sounds good, even to me, but think what they could do after that.

The defense of our Second Amendment rights is at a greater urgency than ever before. Many anti-gun (quite literally, anti-freepeople) groups are using the terrorist attack on September 11th for their own good. They say it is treason to support the Second Amendment after what happened on that dreadful day. Really, that day is an even greater reason as to why we should have personal protection.

If you still support the prohibiting of gun ownership for the reason of what happens so often now in our public schools, I have a much safer, simpler, more effective solution. As so many of us have seemed to forget, the personal use of guns is required to maintain a free nation. And the education of our nation's youth on the safe use of guns is required if we are to keep them (guns).

I hope this message has either, changed your mind toward guns if you were originally against them, or made you even more determined to protect the rights of our free people than you were before.
