This is from the Dayton press. It's a log of a 911 call and it is rather graphic in detail. Don't read this if you can't handle a play by play involing an apparent murder.
From the Dayton press [From the Dayton Daily News: 12.11.2000]
911 call
Lizette Colon: Hurry please (he) is going to kill my husband.”
Dispatcher: Who’s going to kill your husband?
Lizette Colon: There’s a black guy with a gun outside, 1171 Rose.
Dispatcher: OK, and he’s outside, black male outside?
Lizette Colon: Yes, with a gun he’s going to kill my husband, please.
Dispatcher: Is your husband outside?
Lizette Colon: Yes, he is with him.
Dispatcher: So what’s this guy look like ma’am?
Lizette Colon: He’s, he’s got something on his face.
Dispatcher: He’s got a mask on his face?
Lizette Colon: Yes, please hurry up, man he’s going to kill my husband.
Dispatcher: OK, I’ve got the call in, okay?
Lizette: OK.
(A few more exchanges about the suspect’s appearance and then there was screaming, very loud screaming from Lizette Colon)
Pause..
Lizette Colon: Oh My God. Hello?
Dispatcher: Yes, I’m here.
Lizette Colon: Oh my God he’s on the floor, he’s dead (more screaming)
Dispatcher: OK, let me get an ambulance ma’am.
Lizette Colon: (screaming) Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.
Dispatcher: Stay on the line with me.
(Colon hangs up, but calls back.)
Lizette Colon: Oh my God, hello.
Dispatcher: Yes, was he shot ma’am?
Lizette Colon: (screaming) he’s dead.”
Now, if this lady had a pistol instead of a phone, her husband MAY have lived through this. |
